Welcome

My name is Amanda Gilmore, and I am excited to work with your students at Butler Intermediate. I will be teaching students in grades 3–5 in a self-contained special education classroom.

I am a Texas native and a graduate of Quinlan ISD. I began my career in education at Butler Intermediate as a paraprofessional. After earning my teaching certification, I moved to Ford High School, where I served as a co-teacher in English. Later, I relocated to Virginia, where I enjoyed exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains while designing a private school for students with autism and coordinating American Sign Language (ASL) services for school systems throughout the New York City area.

After several years away, I was excited to return to Butler Intermediate as a co-teacher, working with fifth-grade Reading/Language Arts and Math students. I also had the opportunity to serve as the Special Education Team Lead for one year.

I live in Greenville with my daughter and our three dogs. In my free time, I enjoy knitting, reading, painting, trying new recipes, and spending time with family. I look forward to partnering with you to help your child learn, grow, and have a successful school year!
